HERACLİTUS

Heraclitus was the fourth philosopher of ionian.He was born in Ephesos(today in İzmir).He had a aristocrat family.We learned the informations about his life from Diogones Laertius who wrote antic philosopher anthologhy.His father was named either Bloso or Herokon.With regard to education,Diogones relates that Heraclitus had a poor opinion of human affairs.Heraclitus hated  the Athenians people and his fellow ephesus people.Therefore,he became a hater of humankind.Afterthen,he wandered the nature and he was interested in philosophy of nature and his stress upon the needles unconsciousness of humankind.He was called the obscure and the weeping philosopher.Heraclitus' thought was characterized with everything flows aphorism.

The philosophy of Heraclitus is summed up in his cryptic utterance
ποταμοῖσι τοῖσιν αὐτοῖσιν ἐμβαίνουσιν, ἕτερα καὶ ἕτερα ὕδατα ἐπιρρεῖ.
Potamoisi toisin autoisin embainousin, hetera kai hetera hudata epirrei
"Ever-newer waters flow on those who step into the same rivers."
The quote from Heraclitus appears in Plato's Cratylus twice; in 401d 
τὰ ὄντα ἰέναι τε πάντα καὶ μένειν οὐδέν
Ta onta ienai te panta kai menein ouden
"All entities move and nothing remains still
"πάντα χωρεῖ καὶ οὐδὲν μένει" καὶ "δὶς ἐς τὸν αὐτὸν ποταμὸν οὐκ ἂν ἐμβαίης"
Panta chōrei kai ouden menei kai dis es ton auton potamon ouk an embaies
